There are few more satisfying things as a photographer than to actually touch a print or to hold a book of your images, before posting it to its new home…

Sunset at Hunts Mesa I was privileged to capture this gorgeous sunset during my visit to four corners... Hunts Mesa is a rock formation located in Monument Valley, south of the border between Utah and Arizona in the United States and west of the border between Arizona's Navajo County and Apache County.

Motel Purpureum Just a few miles east of Amarillo, Texas, we came upon this installation created with five spray painted, age decayed Volkswagen beetles. Located in the old Route 66 town of Conway, the cars are partially buried at approximately 45-degree angles, their noses facing downward into the dirt, left to disintegrate over time, with visitor participation encouraged in the form of graffiti... The Sun was beginning to set as I framed this shot on old expired Medium Format Kodak Portra film and prayed to thephotography gods that it would expose even a quarter of the majesty we could see, the road was calling we had no time to tarry. Black Golden Gate An Infrared monochrome impression of the worlds most famous bridge, The Golden Gate Bridge... As the sun sets over the Pacific, shadow and light play a concert on the towers and suspension cables.
A lone fisherman paddles out across a placid lake Atitlan, high in the Guatemalan highlands... He made me think of Hemingway; "Every day is a new day. It is better to be lucky. But I would rather be exact. Then when luck comes you are ready." Original Created:2024
'The White Rabbit' (The hurrier I go, the behinder I get) A simple fantasy created in a fantastical meadow in Mendocino County, Northern California... 'It was the White Rabbit, trotting slowly back again, and looking anxiously about as it went, as if it had lost something; and she heard it muttering to itself `The Duchess! The Duchess! Oh my dear paws! Oh my fur and whiskers! She'll get me executed, as sure as ferrets are ferrets! Where can I have dropped them, I wonder?' Alice guessed in a moment that it was looking for the fan and the pair of white kid gloves, and she very good-naturedly began hunting about for them, but they were nowhere to be seen--everything seemed to have changed since her swim in the pool, and the great hall, with the glass table and the little door, had vanished completely. Very soon the Rabbit noticed Alice, as she went hunting about, and called out to her in an angry tone, `Why, Mary Ann, what are you doing out here? Run home this moment, and fetch me a pair of gloves and a fan! Quick, now!' And Alice was so much frightened that she ran off at once in the direction it pointed to, without trying to explain the mistake it had made."
“The Initiation” Into the void she surrendered, unafraid, at peace. The time had come. No longer resisting the darkness, she saw the light. Onyi, an Òsún and Obàtálà initiate, body painted beneath a full Moon in Tulum, illuminated by moonlight and ultra violet light... It engulfed her, until it was all that remained. It was all there had ever been. Onyi Body and light painted by Tribal Markers, inspired by the subject/model/corporeal canvas herself, Onyi Love. *Click image for price and framing options

The Unburnt Bridge A boy in the Laotian highlands stands between boyhood and adolescence. “A bridge of silver wings stretches from the dead ashes of an unforgiving nightmare to the jeweled vision of a life started anew.” ― Aberjhani A bridge of the gods crossing to the other world symbolically illustrates the passage of the brave in numerous traditions, taking on many guises. The great felled Oak of Siberian tribes describes the milky way along which pass the souls of those “killed without sickness.” In Chinese mythology the gods descend to earth on the ‘Floating Bridge of Heaven’ while the souls of Japanese mortals ascend to heaven upon the eight planks of the Buddhist bridge Yatsu-hashi. Thus the span of worlds is bridged by symbolic systems of thought and form.

The Naiad The Naiad's in Greek myth were nymphs of fresh waters, lagoons, springs and streams. Their waters' purity and use in ritual cleansings were credited with magical medical properties. Jealous nymphs were often fascinated by beauty, like the abductors of the Argonaut Hylas. Salmacis the lustful nymph, who attempted to rape Hermaphroditus, and whilst clinging to him called for the Gods that their bodies to be forever as one. Her wish was granted, and their bodies blended into one form. "There dwelt a Nymph, not up for hunting or archery: unfit for footraces. She the only Naiad not in Diana’s band. Often her sisters would say: “Pick up a javelin, or bristling quiver, and interrupt your leisure for the chase!” But she would not pick up a javelin or arrows, nor trade leisure for the chase. Instead she would bathe her beautiful limbs and tend to her hair, with her waters as a mirror." Ovid, Metamorphoses. Book IV, 306-312. 10 Print limited run.
